Hours/Shifts Available: Monday - Thursday  9am-4pm  Summer 2025 ONLY (between May 12-August 20, 2025). Must be available to work on site.

Pay rate: $16.00-$17.50/hr

Job Description:

The University Libraries’ Rare and Distinctive Collections seeks an undergraduate student assistant for a limited-term (no longer than 15 weeks) project, between May 12-August 20, 2025. This position will process the James Zarichny papers in the Archives in Norlin Library. Under the supervision of the Senior Processing Archivist, the student will independently research, arrange, describe, re-house, and perform other collection processing work as needed on the papers of Colorado leftist and labor activist James Zarichny, founder of Left Hand Book collective. Training will be provided, and the student will learn professional standards and best practices for archival collection processing and create an online finding aid, or inventory, for the collection.  Must work between 14-28 hours per week, between 9am-4pm M-Th, in Summer 2025 between May 12-August 20, 2025.  All work will take place onsite in the Archives in Norlin Library.

Desired Qualifications or Skills:

  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours as an undergraduate student in the summer or the spring and fall semesters of 2025.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office products
  • Detail-oriented, able to work independently and communicate effectively.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with an interest in archives or backgrounds in history, labor, or political science.
